Hey buddy,

If you’re new here, I do not just tell you about online businesses/side hustles to start, I also do one of them as an experiment every month and disclose the details with you guys.

Last week I told you about my new experiment, GTMJobsHQ, a job board for go-to-market roles. You can read that post here.

Quick update: I threw out the first version and rebuilt it.

Here's what happened.

Why I scrapped version one

I first built the board on Job Boardly, a no-code job board platform. It got me live fast. But the more I used it, the more it felt like renting someone else's template:

  • Placeholder text kept showing up on the live site ("thousands of developers," fake testimonials)

  • Hard to add the fields that make a GTM board different, like OTE and quota

  • Every design change meant fighting the theme builder

Plus it felt like every other generic job board out there. I’ll not lie it has some great features like job backfill which is a life saver but I wasn’t happy with the design and functional limitations.

So I did what everybody’s doing nowadays: VIBECODED it in Lovable, an AI app builder.

It's mine now. I can change anything with just a prompt.

What I've built since

  • Jobs post themselves. The board pulls listings automatically from Greenhouse, Lever, and Ashby (the hiring tools most startups use). No copy-pasting jobs by hand. Although I still spend 10-15 mins daily on LinkedIn and scrape some of them myself too.

  • A filter, so junk stays out. The first import pulled in software engineers and support reps. Now there's a keyword filter, and every new job lands in a review queue. I approve it before it goes live.

  • Apply buttons that actually work. Applications go straight to the company instead of sitting in my database.

  • A blog for Google. Three posts aimed at searches with almost no competition. "GTM engineer" alone gets about 3,600 searches a month.

  • GTM Playbooks (coming next). A library of the best sales and marketing posts from X, so people have a reason to come back even when they're not job hunting.

  • GTM engineers and agencies directory. An engineer can drop in their portfolio and get themselves listed. Same for agencies

  • A salary index tool. I need to work more on this though to make it more useful.

  • A newsletter. I think at this point I should change my name from Wifi Moolah Kris to Newsletter Kris lol. I am so obsessed with having newsletters lol.

The numbers so far

  • Jobs live: 99

  • Visitors: 600+

  • Newsletter signups: 5

  • Revenue: $0

My next focus is to build a tools directory and bring a sponsor from one of them. I am already cold outreaching a few of them on Twitter. Hoping to get one soon

What your replies told me

Last week I asked if you'd ever start a job board. Most of you said 'never thought about it.' So I'll break down how job boards actually make money in a future issue and why is it still a good side hustle

The lesson so far

Speed matters more than the tool. Job Boardly got me live in a day, and that's what showed me what I actually needed. If I'd tried to build the perfect version first, I'd still be building. Having an MVP made me understand what I actually wanted.

The rest can be handled by AI. This was kinda my first time building something like this using an AI tool and honestly, I AM HOOKED.

It feels so effortless, so good that I have been spending almost an hour daily just tweaking things. That said, I have upgraded my plan 3 times lol. But it’s still cheaper and quicker.

Want the full breakdown?

Everything above is the highlights. The full step-by-step, including the exact Lovable prompts I used, goes in The Moolah Letter.

  • Oct 31: The full Koldbound breakdown

  • Nov 30: GTMJobsHQ, from zero to live board

It's $19/month right now. On Oct 31 it goes up to $29. Join before then and you keep $19 for as long as you stay.

Talk soon,
Kris

P.S. If your company is hiring for a sales, marketing, or RevOps role, reply with the link. I'll post it for free. Also keep an eye out for the next update.

Reply if you wanna ask me anything.
