Experiment #2 starts now. You picked the hard one.

Hey buddy,
The votes from the last week’s polls are in. And you're sending me down a rabbit hole.

Experiment #2 is officially: Build an AI Newsletter from Scratch.
You picked it. I have to live with it.
Here's the honest truth — I'm a little nervous about this one.
AI newsletters are everywhere right now. Like, everywhere. Your inbox is probably already drowning in them. Some of them are genuinely printing money through sponsorships and affiliate deals. Others are just AI-generated noise dressed up in a Beehiiv template.
The question is: can a complete beginner break through the noise, grow an audience fast enough to matter, and actually monetize it? In 30 days?
I have no idea. That's kind of the point.
Here's what I'm committing to this month:
I'm launching the newsletter from absolute zero. No existing audience, no head start, no cheating. I'll document every decision — the niche I pick, the content strategy, how I'm driving subscribers, what's working, what's flopping, and whether any real money comes in by the end.
Every Friday you'll get an update with the real numbers. Open rates, subscriber count, revenue, all of it. No vanity metrics dressed up as wins.
Why this experiment actually matters
AI content is genuinely one of the most interesting opportunities right now — but also one of the most competitive. The creators who are winning aren't just pumping out ChatGPT summaries. They've found a specific angle, built trust with a niche audience, and turned that attention into income through sponsorships, affiliates, or their own products.
If that model is actually replicable for a normal person starting from zero, you deserve to know. If it's mostly hype and the real winners got in 18 months ago, you deserve to know that too.
Either way, you get the honest answer.
What I already know going in:
The AI newsletter space is crowded. Standing out means picking a specific niche instead of just "AI news" — that's table stakes at this point. Growth is the real game. Getting subscribers without an existing audience is the hardest part of any newsletter, and I'll be testing different channels to see what actually moves the needle.
Monetization usually comes later, but I'm going to look for early wins wherever I can find them.
Last month I wasted two weeks chasing ghost followers on X and got locked out three times for my trouble. The lesson there was painfully clear: shortcuts get you fake results.
This month I'm doing it differently. Real content, real growth strategy, real results — whatever those end up being.
First update drops next Friday. It'll either be a promising start or a spectacular early struggle. Knowing my track record, probably a bit of both.
See you then. ✌️
